Semi-targeted UPLC-MS method in development to identify over 200 metabolites. Metabolites captured to include a variety of cell membrane lipids and lipid mediators. These include different types of' phospholipids (such as PC, PE, PI, and PG), lysophospholipids (such as LPC and LPE), and sphingomyelins.

A total of five internal standards (stable isotope) and five purified extracts that represent the five lipid classes analyzed are used to confirm retention times of select lipids and the approximate range of each lipid class, respectively. UTAK plasma is used for intra- and inter-batch variability assessment, in addition to replicate analysis of study samples.
